Our Founder
Niyazi Gür, the late founder of Gürler Construction, was born on February 8th, 1943 in Dernekpazarı, Trabzon. He completed his studies in Trabzon.
After moving to Istanbul in 1965, Niyazi Gür started his career in the construction sector.
In a short period of time, he experienced almost all construction site positions from formwork laborer to construction foreman.
In the year 1967, he had his first contracting and real estate investment experience.
Since this start, Niyazi Gür, as a young entrepreneur and contractor having construction site experience in the sector, successfully produced dozens of local and international real estate development and contracting projects with strong adherence to ethical principles. Niyazi Gür had possessed T.R. Ministry of Public Works and Settlement Contractor License since 1981.
The real estate development operations in Turkey and the contracting services abroad carried out by Niyazi Gür under the sole proprietorship registered under his own name, were institutionalized under the umbrella of Gürler Construction Industry and Foreign Trade Limited Company in 1993.
During the period of contracting services abroad, Niyazi Gür not only provided job opportunities with high-level salaries for Turkish construction laborers but also developed a wide international business network and relations. He gained respect and trust in both his business network and social network. Niyazi Gür developed domestic and international business relations that go beyond mere business interactions and become close friendships over the time with the senses of respect and affection. Due to these sound ties; Gürler Construction has been able to attract a significant amount of foreign direct investments to the Turkish real estate market since the early 1990s up to date.
Niyazi Gür had a strong sense of altruism, and highly valued the society and particularly the young people; thus he endeavored to support them both morally and financially. He involved in social responsibility projects both as a volunteer organizer and a financial sponsor; and made contributions to the activities of charities and educational institutions. He never used his social responsibility and altruism aspect either to promote himself or his company. In these activities, the biggest motivation for him was the spiritual satisfaction stemming from bringing a smile to needy people’s faces and making a contribution to the progress of the society.
Niyazi Gür made Gürler Construction a present of strong humanitarian and ethical values, extensive social and business relations network, 45 years of construction and contracting experience, a stably growing business volume and other values the company possesses. However, upon the passing of Niyazi Gür on November 17th, 2011, Gürler Construction family has lost its most precious asset.
Gürler Construction family will always remain grateful to him, and regards his values, hard work and dedication as its most valuable capital.
