History
Gürler Construction was born as a result of the institutionalization of the construction, real estate development and contracting operations carried out by the late founder Niyazi Gür since 1967, under the umbrella of a limited company.

1967 - 1982
Niyazi Gür successfully realized a large number of 1st class residence projects in the Fatih District, one of the most exclusive places in Istanbul at that time. Niyazi Gür, laid the ground for the deep-rooted contracting experience of Gürler Construction with these projects materialized under the umbrella of ‘Niyazi Gür Construction Contracting and Trade’ sole proprietorship.

These buildings, constructed in the 1967-1982 period, are still in use today. Despite the half-century-old time passed since then and major earthquakes Istanbul faced in the meantime, the residents continue their lives in peace and security in these buildings. Niyazi Gür had possessed T.R. Ministry of Public Works and Settlement Contractor License since 1981.

1982 - 1987
Niyazi Gür, upgraded his construction and contracting experience to international level in the period 1982-1987. He completed his first contracting project 6 months before the deadline fulfilling all the requirements under the contract.

With this successful start, he proved his reliability, devotion and contracting experience in the Saudi Arabian construction sector.

In fact, the Saudi contractees in the first project have become so reliant that they began to sign contract with Niyazi Gür without bank guarantee requirement in the following contracting projects.

In the following 5 years in Saudi Arabia, Niyazi Gür completed a wide variety of contracts, from university campuses to 1st class residence projects with the same sense of devotion and responsibility. Thus, he presented Gürler Construction an international contracting experience that it will be proud of.

1987 - 2004
The official foundation of Gürler Construction took place in 1993 with the transformation of ‘Niyazi Gür Construction Contracting and Trade’ sole proprietorship into ‘Gürler Construction Industry and Foreign Trade Limited Company’. Thanks to Niyazi Gür’s international contracting experience, Gürler Construction expanded its business volume in terms of total construction area and project type (residence, commercial, cultural buildings) in the new projects undertaken in Turkey in the 1987-2004 period.

Among these projects, Cerrahpaşa Gür Residences, Cerrahpaşa Kalkanlar Residences, Haseki Business Center and Genesis Plaza are the most prominent ones.

Gürler Construction, taking advantage of its international business network and relations, has attracted foreign direct investments to the Turkish real estate market in the early 1990s; and successfully developed real estate projects in partnership with foreign capital.

With this first foreign capital partnership, Gürler’s long experience in international real estate portfolio management started.

2004 - Present
In parallel with the fast growing Turkish real estate market in mid-2000s, Gürler Construction raised its investment capacity and continued to expand its business volume. Since 2004, Gürler has produced prestigious, 1st class residence projects such as Tarabya Yıldız Residences and Tarabya Palmiye Residences in the Bosporus region, the most exclusive residential place in Istanbul.

Gürler Construction co-founded AG Yapı Inc. in 2008 in partnership with ANDA Real Estate Development Co., an international real estate development and contracting company active in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Algeria. Through this partnership, a significant amount of foreign direct investment has been attracted to Turkish real estate market.

In 2008, Gürler Construction, within the framework of AG Yapı Inc partnership, started the AG Plaza project in Sütlüce - Istanbul, and finished this project, amounting to a 38500 m2 total construction area, in 2011. This project, adding a great value to Sütlüce district, has been sold to Istanbul Commerce University. AG Plaza will come into operation as the biggest campus of Istanbul Commerce University in the 2012-2013 academic year.

Gürler Construction family felt a deep sadness on November 17th, 2011 due to passing of its founder, Niyazi Gür. Due to this great loss, the management of the company altered, and Necati Gür, one of the existing managers, was elected the chairman of the board.
